about

Self Existence is an eclectic, playful mix of spirituality, funk and energy. Frankly, some of it is just strange. Heavily influenced by fantasy and psychedelic genres, Welcome to Strangetown was a concept formulated in 2007 targeted at taking listeners on an adventure ‘down the rabbit hole’. Ranging from hip/hop, funk, psychedelia, trance and just plain weird this album is sure to satisfy those who like to smile. It will also appeal to people who enjoy: line dancing, custard, stomping, poker, mud, berets and a beatnik attitude. A long time listener and beer lover has described the Self Existence sound as follows:

Picture a world where you are being chased through the forests of Naboo by squishy jelly men. Accompanied by Han Solo and Chewbacca, you dodge the lasers being fired by techno monkeys. Taking refuge in what appears to be a bar, you find yourself drunk on happiness listening to the slap bass rhythms laid down by none other than Buddha himself. He buys you a drink and just as you go to drink it, you wake up, realising you have been dreaming the whole time and that you have also just wet the bed.

So change your sheets, brew up a tea, tilt your beret and enjoy!
